Guidelines for thinking about transition finance.


In the second part of his two-part series in Environmental Finance, Hervé Duteil, BNP Paribas' Chief Sustainability Officer for the Americas, looks at what transition finance means – and what it doesn't mean – and suggests a framework to start thinking about transition bonds (and loans).

Which sectors could be covered by transition finance, and using what criteria? What kind of guidelines might we use for this new avenue of finance? What is covered by the concept of the 'just transition' - and where does it end?
