Fresh water is the 21st century blue gold. UK utility Anglian Water has developed innovative climate solutions that present a strategic opportunity.

The UN estimate that one-fifth of the world's population live in areas of physical water scarcity. Preserving water resource for the future is therefore a priority.

By issuing the first ever public utility sector Sterling (GBP) Green Bond in August 2017, Anglian Water is at the forefront of developing resilient and pioneering water infrastructure. In addition AGW's aggressive strategy on carbon reduction has helped to minimise both operational and capital carbon.

Peter Simpson, CEO of Anglian Water, describes the tenets of their approach as mitigation and adaptation, where a focus on driving innovative solutions is having a positive environmental impact on both the business and consumer.
