BNP Paribas Investment Partners sponsors Asia Asset Management's inaugural ESG roundtable.


As one of the founding members of the United Nations Principles of Responsible Investments (UN PRI), BNP Paribas Investment Partners' commitment towards Sustainable and Responsible Investments extends globally.

Reinforcing our position as one of the market leaders in this space, BNP Paribas Investment Partners sponsored the Inaugural Roundtable on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) issues organised by Asia Asset Management in Singapore on 17 November. The roundtable brought together more than 100 attendees to discuss the theme: "The World of ESG: Issues & Opportunities."

Alex Ng, Chief Investment Officer, Asia Pacific, delivered his insights about how advisors and managers can build an ESG-aware portfolio, sharing case studies and explaining how the process has evolved in the listed Asian equity space in recent years.

He also highlighted the inherent risks that not being sustainably-minded might bring, with the potential impact on investors during his presentation.

In her presentation titled "The ESG Way: Opening Opportunities and Tackling Concerns", Helena Viñes Fiestas', Head of Sustainability Research, explained how if done smartly, this new market paradigm opens up sound investment opportunities for investors.

This has become increasingly important given that investors are now targets of both traditional financial regulation and broader legislation geared towards making energy transition a reality. Her presentation was ranked amongst the best by conference attendees.

Going forward in 2017, BNP Paribas Investment Partners will continue to engage in the ESG/ SRI arena help our clients navigate the changing landscape.
